Ted Turner talked to CNNs Lou Dobbs on Tuesday night to talk about his new book. Turner had appeared on Letterman the night before and took a shot at Lou Dobbs when he remarked, You ever watch Lou Dobbs? Its not funny is it?

Dobbs asked Turner what he didnt like about the show. Turner responded, I dont like the fact that you are so mean and nasty to the illegal immigrants.

Plain: I have more executive experience than Obama

(CNN) — Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin vowed on Tuesday to use her executive experience to tackle government reform and energy independence if she and Sen. John McCain win this year’s presidential election.

“It’s going to be government reform because that, that is what I’ve been able to do as a mayor and as a governor, you, you take on the special interests and the self-dealings. Yep, you ruffle feathers and you have the scars to prove it,” Palin said Tuesday in an interview with CNN’s Drew Griffin.

“You have to take that on to give the American people that faith back in their own government. This is their government and we’ve got to put it back on their side,” she said.

Obama, 2 other senators in Afghanistan

(CNN) — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is in Afghanistan on a multistop overseas trip for meetings with international leaders but with an eye on the U.S. presidential race back home.

Sen. Barack Obama is expected to visit several world leaders over the next few weeks.

Obama’s trip, which includes visits to Iraq, Jordan, Israel, Germany, France and the United Kingdom, is intended to bolster his foreign policy credentials before U.S. voters.

“This is the campaign trail via satellite — pictures for the rhetoric back home,” CNN’s Candy Crowley said, adding that the trip was intended to demonstrate that Obama was up to the job of taking a lead role on the international stage.

“The question is, is he tough enough to stand up for America but graceful enough to improve [its] image?” Crowley said. Video Watch what Obama needs from this trip »
